Once New [revised]

by Clara Mae Gregory

Gone is the glory

Shrouding the room

Keeping alive the

Memory entombed

Captive in stares

Stiffened to defy,

With the lightning

Fusing the fervor

Inside effulgent eyes

Quickening the Lives

Brewed in the brume,

Trickling into icicles

Of what once grew.
