Song of Myself, part 1 by Richard VinceMy strengths are not my strengths;
All I am assumed to be
Is assumed, and all that I
Appear to be are appearances.
There is always someone better
At being me than I am.
These words are just words, and
I must accept that; let my
Mediocrity be a part of me,
Be the essence of who I am.
She reads and listens, listens and reads.
My mind is too small to
Divide in two like that
And still function; I have given
The better part of myself
To idle pursuits and procrastination.
As I walk on, she looks and then
Looks pointedly away. She knows.
