I always seem to trip by Thomas K. HuntIt's been happening year after year
It never seems to quit
People trying to walk a straight line
always seem to trip
It gets slick and it gets slippery
Especially when it's wet
I'm not betting on myself
I'd never win that bet
Here I go I fell down again
I swear to God it never ends
I can't seem to walk a straight line
I trip and fall down every time
I have on my best shoes
I think they look pretty good
I'm thinking I have nothing to lose
I'm forever knocking on wood
I can't seem to get this down
I'm the laughing stock of the town
I'm going for another pass
Promise me this time you won't laugh
Some day I'll meet you on the other side
If you get there firsts send back a ride
You'll know where to find me
I'll be back here at start
Send me anything
Send a horse and a cart
I'm going to cross that line
on that day in time
I'll be wearing my smile
like a crocodile
It will be on my mind
Until I come to that line
that finds me on the river shore
That line means so much more
I'll keep plugging away
Enjoying every day
I need to find a place to sit
I need to get a grip
It's been happening year after year
I never seems to quit
I keep trying to walk a straight line
I always seem to trip

Posted by George Hoerner on 03/13/16 at 04:04 AM If it's about "tripping" I'm all for it. Even with my walking stick it can still happen. In order not to trip one has to concentrate on walking and it is one of those things I learned to do about 75 years ago give or take a year. In any case nice write!! |
