Thrown

by Anita Mac

I cast myself about
in a wash of self-doubt;
it’s been a while
since I wasted good time here.

The neighborhood’s not quite what I remember.
I guess that’s what happens
when you come to take solitude for granted.

There are no shiny mirrors here.
