Ice bucket heart

by Jolie Jordan

I wear these scars
like prison tattoos,
flexing my knuckles
and killer grin
at anyone that dares
step to me.

Every lie
I've ever heard
fall from your lips
is just another bullet
in my loaded gun
pointed at my new lover's head.

I really can't decide though.

I'm either completely ruined
by my past,
or a master of my future
because of it.

I want you to know though,
my curves haven't even cooled down
before the next one fills my bed.

Bang, bang.

How clever did you feel when you wrote that last line? I hope you felt pretty clever.
