One More Year without You

by Thomas K. Hunt

One more year without you
Each year harder to get through
All I have are memories
Miles from how life used to be
The October moon just said so long
Another faded echo of your birthday song
Another memory from my past
Same old heartbreak that seems to last
I turned around and you were gone
I sat down and wrote a song
It was hard with all my tears
All the words began to smear
My life has never been the same
Though you're gone you still remain
Among the pieces of my heart
A heart that's broken apart

One more year without you
Each year harder to get through
All I have are my memories
Miles from how life used to be
Now I find myself again
As this October comes to an end
Feeling that old familiar pain
My tears again falling like rain
Tell me what else I can do
Please no more years without you
I need my heart to mend
Hold you in my arms again
See the moonlight shine in your eyes
Stop these tears that I cry
It's time you heard my plea
Please come back to me

I'm in my own little world
My mind's stuck on you girl
I work hard at it every day
No matter what I do
You just won't go away
Life goes on and I'll live
You can't forget
Anyone can forgive
One more year without you
It's the hardest thing to do
I feel I'm running out of time
I need your body and mind
I need my arms around you
Another year without you just won't do
I need you now right here today
I need it no other way
I have nothing more to say
