Auspicious Planet

by Alison McKenzie

The pilot arrives,
Curvaceous lips,
Glowing countenance,
The shelter of embrace that
Remedies the wounded soul.

A love so vast
A Universe cannot contain it.

The ship has landed
Fuel efficiency maximized,
No need for a return to
Injured Earth.

The discovery of a compatible planet;
Relief for the wearied warrior
In search of a land
Not made of war.

A home in which to thrive,
A warm hearth and heart.

The visualization of new beginnings.
