I love you

by Andrea Colton

Do you remember, darling?
Eyes locking, body shocking.
And I knew. I knew it would be you.
Heart beating, love bleeding, soul crushing...
I was blind until I saw you.

Do you remember, darling?
Sweaty summer skin, bodies on fire.
The heat of flesh-on-flesh. I couldn't catch my breath,
as I was holding on to each of yours.
And I never thought that time could pass,
that love could cripple or give me wings,
but then you showed me differently.

Will you remember, darling?
When my hues are grey
and I do not stand, but sway;
will you know that I am not fading,
nor dissipating, but love, I am only keeping
you, and everything you touch you carry.

Remember, darling.
When my arms are too weak to hold you,
let my words wrap around you,
please, feel my warmth surround you.

I am anything but everything and only you will know it.
Love is vibrant, colored roses; only when you eat it, never when you own it.
You, my darling, are a massive, pixilated entity; floating in my personal galaxy.

Author's Note: It's up to us to find the hidden meaning in what people do, that possibly says "I love you". Words can be forgotten, but a feeling lives forever.
