I stand alone
in the backyard
of my mind
drinking in the night.

This night is dark,
lonely and woeful
surrounding me,
opposing me

against the light.
Then the stars faintly
shine, a light that
has gone out eons ago.

I stand alone
drinking in the night,
quieting my mind
until all is right.
