Destroyer of Worlds

by Aaron Blair

What I remember is this,
in the space where my my father should have been,
there was something formless and still,
a great powerful dark,
a ravenous destroyer of worlds.
On a wave that carried thought but not sound,
I felt what I could not hear. I knew it,
the same way my flesh knew terror.
"You are mine. I own you.
I brought you into this world.
I will take you out of it."
I was an abomination constructed solely from his desire
to create something that only he could destroy.
The only gift the creator ever offered me was death.
