Read the Flyer

by Jody Pratt

I don't just wanna be, I wanna be fly,
because life is too short too be shy. So I'm
buzzing to the honies, “We should be bumpin' uglies from behind.”
Misbehaving bumble bee being bad with the Queen in the tree, in my beehive.

This is my flight ticket, gonna wing it;
because I'll freestyle if I can't sing it.
No luck and not a pot pissed in, yet; so
I'll make it here if I can't bring it.
I'm a wiz with words faster than a piston jet.

I'm Peter Parker, nah, I'm Peter Pan,
flying off Manhattan like it's Neverland,
catching air like a fairy in a spiderweb.
See, I Hook you with every line I thread.

I play the Hero when I'm the threat,
fly like a white guy or Goldblum, Jeff.
Bet ya never seen wings on a rhinoceros,
or a Tyrannosaurus... Rex.
This is Dragon's Den and I'm the vet.

A champ so big I wear an asteroid belt;
you've probably never felt so svelte.
Solar system rolling in, feel the pressure,
I've got you scorched and under the weather,
gonna melt you like butter; better bring your umbrella,
the bigger, the better. The hotter the bothered,
you're a goner gonna need some water poured on ya..

I leave you so burned they call you Cinderella.
