Insomnolence by Desdemona SinestraI bolted onto the R train and sent Chelsea a text
"I'm going to drag my lips down your stomach
Like I'm combing the beach for precious metals"
Her face became the color of the sounds she tried to suppress
Or that's how I imagined it
And I thought
What's the point of whispering
When you've got a mouthful of live wires
Floating through an electron cloud
She buzzed me in
She and I, we never get tired
She and I
We don't need to get drunk to have fun
Let's just keep things simple
And get it wrong the first time
Let's just keep things simple
And get it wrong the first time
Let's just keep things simple
And get it wrong the first time
I just caught the cowgirl ain't never been caught
Enter the unforgiving light of morning
Chels grabbed my phone
As I typed this into my notes
"You deserve to be alone"
she whispered
And I said that's all I ever wanted
When the door slammed behind me
Several objects fell from her shelves
And the sounds imbibed my face with colors of music
I just caught the cowgirl ain't never been caught
Funny

Posted by June Labyzon on 10/28/14 at 02:44 PM There are so many layers to this piece (song). It changes and becomes more personal after the "chorus." I loved how you made this happen..."her face become the color of the sounds she tried to suppress." That line hooked me into reading on. Excellent piece. |
