The Song

by Curtis Sethaler

If I were to untie my tongue
Would my words rattle and hum
Or resonate like a gong
Slowly fade like a song?
Like one your lover once wrote
And when she sang it you choked
Because things were moving to quickly
And you though love was a joke.
Now you've grown old and wiser
But you're still searching for answers
Though I'm not sure you'll find them in you're current dark state
See She took them and true love
Walked into the sunset
And let her long hair down
It and love waved good bye
You were to proud to go chase her
And meet her at sunrise
And it's been oh so long
But you're still singing her song.....
