Castle Preparations

by Johnny Crimson

The two Knights strolled
hollow and awkward in their weary steps
through the ancient portcullis and past Steeples Ford,
where the hedge knights of Bar fought against the dreaded
Feverstorms in the Battle of Highgarden.
.
A whisper stepped between their distinguished
feathered helms and permeated the veil of their Valerian armor.
.
The voice seemed to ripple beneath the sigils of their cloaks
and hide there in the crescent moon's light.
.
It whispered "This is all but a dream, awake Sir Knight, awake at once."
.
And so I did, covered in iPhones.

This grabbed me and didn't let me go, and snapped me back to the present day with the last line. The language in this is enchantment at its finest!!!

A life in constant connection with the net is nearly a life of fantasy. Time to wake us all, yes.
