It stays new by Matthew Sharpif we could only sing together
i do miss you without trying
im not so sure of my aim
ive fallen into myself
like an animal shaking off the dust
shedding its shadow
ive given my skin away
and i dont want it back
do you remember what it was like
to hold something so naked sacred
drawing circles of relation
through all of the surface senses
bringing all the otherness
back to the center
i do love
ive seen me do it
but there was so much dirt in the air
i forgot i was even there
we would join hands to play with the sun
so precious walking past your moon
planting the only seeds i had
i dont expect anything
i never got used to you
ill say im sorry
ill keep posting here with the beautiful people
and you'll know im still alive
burning in and out of the spectrum 08/09/2014 Posted on 08/10/2014 Copyright © 2025 Matthew Sharp

Posted by Felicia Aguilar on 08/10/14 at 06:35 AM Oh, everything about this! So many vivid images. My favorite: "ive given my skin away
and i dont want it back
do you remember what it was like
to hold something so naked sacred" Damn! I love it. |
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 08/10/14 at 03:38 PM I'm glad you're in the spectrum and alive. And I don't even know who or why. But I'm glad. |
