The Bottom of the Seventh by V. Blakei
wish there was more to say.
another deconstruction, perhaps?
no. nothing so self-involved.
then maybe a plea bargain...
egalitarian, and
dressed casually?
you carved these crossbones
out of heart and time.
unbelievable, and yet
that was the way of things:
one empty kiss into another.
closure must be overrated.
happenstance might well be fated
and i wouldn't know the difference.
not one of these angels
got its wings before the whole world
ended.
my love, you deserved so much less:
enjoy it, now you've earned it. 08/05/2014 Posted on 08/06/2014 Copyright © 2024 V. Blake
