Family Ties

by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi

We crave community, a social bond
Ere known yet undefin'd nor spoken of
And ache for recognition seldom dawned
From anyone which, greedily, we shove
For, out of anywhere, if only to
Imagine life beyond what we become:
Illusioned of a "separation" through
An ignorance of our continuum
Of human psyche, linked wherein we span
A Unity of being here on Earth.
We're one united family of Man
And animal, thus charged to know our worth.
So understanding our connectedness,
Responsible we are to clean our mess.
