'Cross Lands and Oceans

by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi

A kind hello and looks that said "I know you" so
Began such times of loving life together. Rum
In hand with morning coffee, red lips smiling, slow
And tender, asked me, "how are you?", just having come,
We greeted kissing o'er a glass of welcome-wine.
Reclined in bricklain clouds above night seas, its blue
And black salt waves inviting, guiding us inside,
You bade me, "Kourosh", on a whim, "come down into
The sea and swim with me." I, even had I tried,
Could not refuse to lose myself, your hand in mine,
Awash in heaving waters, in and out the shore
Where, bodies, hands, and hearts a rhythmic, woven maze,
We move together on the sands with stars afore,
Above, behind and lifting us, your loving gaze
Upon me, binds our dancing bodies to align
Our hearts in Dreamtime, carving rust from mine and thine.

Returning 'cross the water to our sand plateau,
We sail each other's lips abaft a moonlit hum
Of waves, cicadas, and such tender winds that blow
Benign and soft enough for coloured leaves to bum
A ride as we our tongues and fingers intertwine.
Though diving deep into my mouth, you still withdrew
Against your pounding muscles as you sat astride
Me nigh the guy who'd cracked the trust you'd hitherto
Entrusted unto him and so to me confide
Reluctance opening yourself as we combine
Emotions lest I just as well deceive you your
Aggrieven heart, deserving tender love and praise.
To recognize the beauty in you, to adore
You, it would honour me your heart and mind to raise
And decorate ornate emotions in the Shrine
Of your eternal Self that knows we're all divine.

Adjusting dusky thoughts can be enough to show
You while we're built of earthen clay, no longer numb
We are to starshine, sunshine, lit so long ago
By beating, fiery breathing of a cosmic drum
Aflame like us as when we, kissing, grind and dine
Upon each other's mouths and bodies, just us two,
Your face and lips, flushed red, cried "Yes" that I collide
Inside you on the starlit sand so might you spew
A throbbing, white pulsating ocean Mrs. Hyde
Would blush at on the beach with shivers up your spine.
Thus in our wanderlust for life, 'neath stars galore,
In wonder at the Milky Way, we fondly laze
Upon the sand for shooting stars, embracing, swore
We'll meet again; that this is not the end of days
When we can hold each other in a love benign
And into me you may so wistfully recline.

We light a cigarette that night in afterglow,
Your hot, red, writhing body somehow numb
As mine to atmospheric cold and so forego
A blanket, warming 'gainst each other so to overcome
The air, and so we go inside, your hand in mine.
So off we go to bed, your musky residue
Upon me, so to kiss and grind, to twist and slide
Across each other, climb a conscious impromptu
Of hedonism few if any deified
In fear of Unity, afraid to cross the Line.
And like the tides, a time has come this dawn once more
That, with a kiss, you leave me in a morning craze
And say "goodbye for now, until we meet again", adore
The time when I can set your heart and soul ablaze
Again this coming time that I may next design
A way to feel your glowing mind and body shine.
