and we'll tell you
where you come from
and
who you are.

since I had some questions
about my origins,
I took them up on it -

deposited a few drops
of my DNA
in a little tube,

dropped it in the mail
and waited

and waited

and waited -


it's amazing how long a month can take,
isn't it?

so, while I waited
I went on

living with lover
playing with friends
visiting with parents
checking on daughter.

supervising some people
being supervised by some people
helping some people
turning some people away.

making things
using things
buying things
throwing things away.

finally
I got a notice
saying my results were in -

I could finally find out
the answers to my life-long questions

opened it up
and learned mostly

that I had been asking
the wrong questions.
