To Know You

by Aaron Blair

My soul would know you,
if we met beyond here, somewhere,
two whispers of who we were once,
floating in the black.
I want to know you,
the way my feet know
this bit of earth I stand on,
the way my lungs know air.
But if this is all I can have,
I'll settle for it.
My bones have settled around it,
like an old house.
Your blood has soaked into the boards.

This is really good. I wish I could form a coherent thought right now.
