Stars were meant for the heavens

by Johnny Crimson

The world glass splinters slow
like sediment waves,
as cherry flow cycles
keep mother nature warm.

We have been annexed,
we're Austria,
no more Alps and sing-alongs,
this is our fate.

She smiled slow but frequent
like still framed boomerang footage,
flickering past us
in the night.

The cable cars rush on
and the light beneath the tracks
slows the speed of the trains,
if only in our minds.

The officer stopped us,
boarding pass provided,
star on her jacket,
she knew she'd burn tonight.

I stepped forward
and was shot,
my sacrifice for you,
now offer them everything my sweet.

They took it,

took her too.

Striking images.Quite creative. A story here that needs background for understanding (at least for me).
