Gray Haiku by Joe Cramerwinter's icy grip
starkly, gray so desolate
freezing without snow
such a cold dark day
the sun refuses to shine
my soul remains gray
gray skies now abound
covering this cold morning
nips of frost, kissing 02/21/2014 Posted on 02/21/2014 Copyright © 2025 Joe Cramer

| Posted by Jim Benz on 02/25/14 at 12:16 AM These are pretty wordy, Joe. A lot of haiku poets have abandoned the 5-7-5 convention and sought more brevity, finding more precise imagery and thoughts to convey these fleeting moments--it's worth considering. You certainly did a fine job of capturing the seaon, though. |
