Fruit of the Poison Tree by Maria Terezia FerenczThe tree is strong
it's roots go deep
it strives
yet the fruit is poison
why must we eat?
Is it
time to cut the branches back
trim away that which
causes such dark shades
We worry about fruit
about eating
I can live
without the feast
I can live
without the tree
02/08/2014 Author's Note: The tree is my family and the fruit I refer to are the habits that every generation have eaten and grown. I refuse to eat them. I am breaking the chain.

Posted by George Hoerner on 02/09/14 at 01:35 AM To me your 'ability' to live without the tree and the fruit and all it represents is unfortunate if not out right sad. But of course that is a males thinking. For me the fruit has never been poison and in fact is one of the strongest methods of human communication. If that is poison then let me drink the cup. |
