Sun Dance

by Sam Roberts

And so,

The wavering world lights up

me, I am

Slithering into the coloured night

Paralysed, frozen breath filled fright

Living love as I have lost

A silence, for myself.

And now,

I walk into the dust again

The tangled tornado of lust again

For me, I have everything but a wish

And I can't stop standing

here.

In the sunken sun dance; it kills me

In the warm, sticky wind; it thrills me

Until I feel the itch

Until I feel

its kiss.
