One Girl's Nightmare

by Courtney B Chiles

There once was a boy that a girl thought she could trust,
She soon found out that this boy was only in it for lust.
She said good-bye to her parents then got into the car,
She was about to find out that he was taking their friendship too far.
He drove down the road and before she knew it she was at his house,
She thought it would be best to stay as quiet as a mouse.
He walked around the car and then he opened the door,
She tried to ask him what he had brought her there for.
He leaned over and grabbed her and said 'It's the least that you can do,'
At that moment she thought that her life was through.
The next thing she knew is that she was laying on his bed,
He put the knife to her throat and told her if she screamed she was dead.
She asked him in a whisper to please let her go,
When she tried to get up, his grip got even stronger and he said 'I do not think so.'
At this time all that she could do is cry,
She was almost sure that she was going to die.
When finally let her go she ran out with tears running down her face,
The ways that he had desecrated her, it made her feel like a disgrace.
When she got home, she wish that she could take back that day,
She didn't want to tell her parents because she was afraid of what they would say.
She knew that her father would be mad,
She knew that her mother would be sad.
She decided to try to forget and get on with her life,
But she could not forget how he held her down with a knife.
Since this had happened she felt like she couldn't trust any kind of guys,
It made her feel like she was living too many lies.
Her life started to be become normal until he showed up again,
It started to feel like a lifetime before her nightmare would end.
He said that would be back, and she knew that it was true,
She knew that she needed to tell someone but she didn't know who.
She tried to tell a teacher, but they thought that she was insane,
When they told her to leave, all that she could do is try and hide her pain.
Later on that year, she discovered that he had come back,
From the moment she saw him she knew that her life would be off track.
He wrapped his arms around her then he whispered in his ear,
He could tell very easily that she had been living her life in fear.
He asked her very sweetly how she had been,
She realized at that point that she didn't have a chance to win.
She tried to ask him why he came back, because she could not understand,
Before he could answer, she tried to push him off her land.
Before she could shut the door, her mom told her she should let him in,
She could not believe that her mom thought that he was her friend.
She tried to explain to her mom that he was there to make her feel bad,
She tried to tell her that every time she saw him it mad her sad.
Her mom told her 'he came all this way to see you so seeing him is a must,'
She couldn't tell her mom how he was in it for the lust.
She wished that she could yell out and tell her how she did feel,
She continued to do what she always do, and try to pretend that it was not real.
Her mom finally asked her what she had tried to push him away for,
She finally decided she couldn't keep the truth hidden anymore.
She sat her mom down and told her everything that had gone on,
She wish that she hadn't kept the truth hidden for so long.
Her mom was going to help her with this fight,
They wanted to put a stop to something that they knew wasn't right.
They were not sure how they were going to tell her dad,
They knew if they told him too soon, that the results could be bad.
She gathered the necessary information so the boy would be put in jail,
The evidence would have to be strong enough so he would not be released on bail.
They went to tell her father before they should try something new,
At this point they just wanted this nightmare to be through.
They started to look for any and every kind of evidence,
She knew that this would be their best kind of defense.
They got in touch with their lawyers and they gave it everything they had,
They could only hope and pray that the results would not be bad.
When they sat in the courtroom he kept giving her a stern look,
It was obvious that he could read her like a book.
She was asked to come to the to the stand and tell what happened that night,
When she came up to talk, he was the first thing in her sight.
He saw that she was getting ready to cry,
She knew that if she said something when he got out of jail she would die.
She closed her eyes and then took a deep breath,
At this point she felt like she had nothing left.
She finally got the strength to let everything out,
When she started to open her mouth she felt like she was about to shout.
She told the jury everything that he had done to cause her so much pain,
When she was done she felt like she was going to go insane.
They asked her to step down and for the boy to step up,
He did his best to show the jury that he was as sweet as a pup.
He tried to tell the people that it was not him,
At this point the girl felt like her life was dim.
They took a break and they would decide what the punishment would be,
The girl was hoping and praying that she would finally be free.
When they came back from break, the judge said that he would pay,
This was the first time in a long time that she could feel safe in any way.
She went home that day thankful that she was still there,
She was also very glad that her parents loved her and really did care.
There is no way of telling when this kind of tragedy will occur during the day,
When this occurs all we can do is try and fight and make it go away.
