cycles

by Manas Moksha

Our dream we dream
that life is meant for joy
leaves burning embers each day
reflecting time passing

Our experiences charred
to the dust of memories we share
so fine - it collects each morning
as we wake
leaving its black soot stain
in deep pores of our skin
in the recesses of our mind
an unconscious smile
to fuel the heart with love and gratitude

Heat remains like a blanket
for the stillness
in the shadows left cold from our departure

Before our eyes meet again
our souls have already set intentions
the foundation for our action

Like concentric circles we radiate
shedding layers of dead cells
pruning our bad habits for growth and renewal
footprints guide our next morning's light

Evocative analogies. Definitely a spiritual element (renewal).
