Villa Borghese by Peter Humphreysamidst
the statues
of old men
children play
pigeons
ever hopeful
scrap about
amidst the acorns
a family
of four
plus one
take photo
after photo
to prove
they were here
Fabio
dozes on
ignoring the incentives
to smile
the parakeets
no longer sparkle
in the tree tops
long since migrated
south
but if you close your eyes
hold your breath
sit still
you ungrow
40 years
the kiss
o that kiss
my body
shere sparkles
in the sun 12/04/2013
