Cygnus

by Leonard M Hawkes

November—
Still walking in pines—
A waxing gibbous moon—
Crying out loud
To a black and silent sky.

Yet know the voice—
Know the hand—
Familiarity beyond faith—
And turning Back, swear
Upon the Northern Cross.
