I wish you to feel the things I feel by Jared OrlandoI wish you to feel the things I feel
When a strange wind such as this
Picks up the hairs on my shoulders
And lifts them towards heaven
Near your fair, blushed-out cheeks
Our fingers, arms become like tree limbs
Our bodies make tangled roots
For hours we grow and twist
Wrapping around the furniture
Blossoms bursting from your chest
I wish you to feel the things I feel
When I use your eyes as beacon light
We trace the corners of the room
And shadows are splashed with
Muffled words of love and lust
Of lust and love
You say, love, the neighbors will hear
I say, well, lucky them
As I trace new maps down your stomach
Looking for our next destination
I wish you to feel the things I feel
As I reach out in darkness for breath
Finding it in strands of reddish brown
In moonlit star clusters on a freckled back
As a Santa Ana wind settles amongst our feet
My once dormant heart beats again
Calling out in subharmonic tones
Vibrating an otherwise soundless vaccuum
In the cool heat we resign
I wish you to feel the things I feel 10/09/2013 Posted on 10/09/2013 Copyright © 2024 Jared Orlando
