The Cursor Is Blinking:

by Rob Littler

My computer has become
Me, the knowing of immense
Sage brush landscapes, the vast
Colorado desert where water rules.
The mountain vistas, each lettered
Pinnacle, each jagged remembrance.
This digital portal is an extension
Of my consciousness. The love of
Community, the sense of belonging,
The hope of achieving understanding,
That our selves can be partly defined
By the device in our hands. The keyboard
That takes my words, this poetry
I feel, while my son sleeps at my feet,
The wind blowing his hair, chilling
My neck. These words appearing here
Make note of it all. Capturing the immediate
Moments that make up becoming.

'make up becoming'--a vast microcosm in that open conclusion. Your sobriety smiles at me.
