Love's Twin Daggers

Love's Twin Daggers

by Razel Davies & Anna Stocker

Glint in his eye,
Deaths glance hold.
Grip hilt and,
Hold fast.
Moon lit blade,
Her life to save.

Andalusian ride,
And power pump of breast,
And breath.
His rider's heels grip his sides,
To faster pace.
Their lungs burn to beat,
And brace for conquering quest.

Blaze in heart,
Burn to kill.
End the rogue,
Thief of fair love.
Property of desirer's touch,
Stole by evil fiend.

Caped avenger,
In narcissist black.
Blends the night,
And calls the raven,
To spy the beauty bride.
Within his grip,
His lover's silver pendant.
Sings its song,
Devotional pursuant,
Affixes their hearts.

Shinto steel drawn,
Clear reflection soon red.
His run begins,
Guards bodies fly,
In path to the end.
Blood filled air,
His opponent must smell.
Sudden stop,
Last door,
His enemy’s voice disgusts.

Indigo eyes fume and flare,
The Andalusian rears and snorts.
With ferocity and flame,
Reins rip and whip his flank.
A holler, a battle cry,
Permeates the foggy air.
His silver sword glistens,
Moonlit beaming.
Abyssal onyx curses his name,
And garnet gleam fuses,
The charge.

The door flings open,
Cracked hinge fall.
The grass and moon,
Courtyard of demons pasture.
Sword ready,
Advance to mounted evil.
Rage powered swipe,
Clash of metal.
Hefty silver,
From above,
Pierces skin,
Recoil lights hero.

Hearty blows,
Lift to empower the vigilant,
Extinguish the masquerade.
A helmet flying,
Reveals sweaty tears of blood.
Adrenaline rush to,
Pound the madness,
Burn of bright a slipskin,
Slice across the brow.

Blood drip,
Wound clear.
With breath short,
His shoulders raise.
The heft of duty,
The war of truth.
Fuelled by hate,
Driven by love.
Blade forced forward,
Clash of metal.
Once again,
Spirit of Jubei,
Arisen in his ancestor.

He strings the pendant,
Which clings to his chest.
Her voice reverberates,
With every blow he plants,
Against the Shinto steeliness.
In fadings,
He sees her eyes,
He sees her perfumed lips he's tasted.
Evermore he is commanded to,
Dual to fight,
To death,
For her.

In the haste,
Red soaked cloth.
Ting and tang,
Steel smash.
Glide of silver,
Close deaths call.
An open shot,
Takes a chance.
Parry a thrust,
With feudal precision.
Final cut,
Iaido taste blow.
With cut twice,
Finnish hard.
The enemy’s eyes,
Fall dim and die.

A serendip,
A slide,
A slip she throws,
Her veil to shroud his face.
Requesting one last look,
Within her ivory laid hands.
She caresses his locks and,
Loosens his bands of,
Leather Armour.
There is no breath,
He's departed to,
The other world.
