Oh to be a pebble
a stone
on the sandy beach of Lake Superior
a beach laced with fine sand and other stones alike
each beautifully intricate and unique
deposited on the shore by the taxi tide
to stay for a day
or maybe two
till the waves come in to whisk you away again
where to?
only the wise ol' tide knows
but you can be certain to be left to rest
on a bed of find sand
amongst the company of stones
travelers alike
yet all that truly matters is that you are a pebble
a stone
on the sandy beach of Lake Superior
