Same Splinter

by Danny Washington

It brings many different people to there knees
You can see their pain in clouds of smoke
Creating and most importantly prolonging the night
Just so we all spend more time asleep
When I get over the effects I fall victim to the cause
I crave the things I don't want anymore

A decent high from a bigger hit
I always try to avoid surprises
Most things will appear to change
But I've notice the sky is always the same
I love to lay on the grass and stare at the moon
It's nice to look at something so many others are looking at too
Trying to get by sailing against the wind

I was a different boy when I wrote that
I don't look at it much anymore

A lot of ideas bouncing around in this, but it all makes sense in the end. Awesome work.
