Bullets I kept as a kid

by Johnny Crimson

There's a simple sailing ship
crossing across the vineyards'lip
and a
false nosed witch
is creeping
around the places
we once hid.

I get a batch of busy boredom
I go pick up sticks and stones
throwing a
rock into the river
playing around
with kitten bones.

We put a frog inside a jar
and left it sitting in the sun
you said
it was dead
before it started
you said baking pets was fun.

I disagreed completely
as we shoved you into that jar
we made
some science
with your fluids
we left a note inside your car.

Dear older parent peoples
we got your kid
he's doing well
we left his body
in the river
at the bottom
so he'll swell.

I took old girl
up to the treehouse
and let her dangle
from the limbs
she left a stain
on the bark carpet
they cut her down
I hope she swims.

You're unrealistic
your descriptions
this couldn't happen
to anyone
it's not reality
just some fantasy
when he refers to baking
in the sun.

Yet there is
some literal here
you really have to
read it all again
because he's talking
about his childhood
he makes them up
then kills his friends.
