The Other Way

by Danny Washington

I see the other way, almost all of the time
It's what I've come to expect
You repeat the things you say, and you do it all the time
It's what I've come to expect

I'm imaging a thundering sound
As all of the feelings come tumbling down
And all that I can do is try to look the other way

It's not worth the extra panic
When my minds already manic
I give in, I surrender, and I offer myself to ordinary.

You are always there inside me
In many ways you are me
And this other way is causing me
A whole new kind of pain
