the sun is just golden,
the sky soft and blue
and fortune shines bright
on whatever I do

and I should be quite happy
but all I can say
is it's great,
but I just don't feel pretty today.

I've got friends,
I've got family,

there's a roof on my house

my life is not hard -

it's a big bowl of cherries,

so go on your picnics,
and frolic with friends -
fill your day with fantastic,
beginning to end

go wherever you will
but for me - I'll just stay;
I'm alright,
but I just don't feel pretty today.
