excercise 1 by Uriel TovarMore warmth than I care for on a summer’s night this candle steadily burns down a browning wick emitting a warm afterglow to this dark room. Its center rests in a post atomic fashion dug in, crater like, with a still pool of warm liquid. As the process of self consumption continues the walls of wax grow tall and thin encasing the now dimmer light in a false security. With a flash and fury the wax wrestles the restless ember crackling and shaking, flickering off, conquering its cancer. But now free of its adversary this shell sits limp, lifeless and dark. 06/21/2013 Author's Note: not a poem. excercise on an online library course
