It needs a certain something;
A confidence that I lack.
It demands an ability, or
A willingness, not to care
About the consequences.

They are only words. That is
What I need to remember; that,
And the knowledge that I should
Feel no responsibility if
The words I speak are not
The words that are heard.

Second guessing is a terrible habit:
An addiction that infringes
On my life, backing me into
An ever smaller space.
