What is that?
Somewhere between Plato and Voltaire?
Where is that?
Is it like headquarters or
The center as in ch'i?
Or is it a cowardly place where one
With interesting skills hides anonymously?
As in the center of the crowd, perhaps.
Or did you mean unable to choose
Between right and wrong?
Or did you mean the center of the universe?
Now that I like. The universe of thought.
What else is there, really?
People of wealth and avarice
Feel stress without shelter just like
The laid-off worker in a line for a check.
The modes we use are vastly overrated
As indicators of anything.
For the low to scream at the high
And the high to ignore the low
Is exactly the same thing.
When one discovers this --
This center of the universe --
The smart ones work hard
To stay there.
