It Comes And Goes

by Thomas K. Hunt

Sometimes when it comes
You wonder where it goes
You want an explanation
You want to know what they know
It just comes and goes
It's not a steady thing
Day to day you never know
what tomorrow will bring

Will you feel sorrow?
You have no way to know
Will you be here tomorrow?
You sure hope so
Will you feel thankful?
Will you just not care?
Will you feel alone if no one is there?
I'm just saying it comes and goes
This is not a steady thing
Day to day you never know
what tomorrow will bring

Will you feel gladness?
Joy with all your might?
Will you find that every day?
Will you feel that every night?
You live in your own little world
Like billions everywhere
You're standing right here
Should you be standing over there?
Let me tell you it comes and goes
There's nothing steady about this thing
Day to day you never know
what the next day will bring

Will you feel like making a sound?
Will you feel like stepping down?
Will you feel you're being real?
Will you know how that feels?
Will you be ready to roll
and to pay that toll?
You're in the middle of a mystery
You'll just have to wait and see
You know that it comes and goes
There's no steady thing
Is there someone who really knows
what tomorrow will bring?

You'll feel different in the morning
Believe me, you always do
Sometimes you can't help but feel
different in the afternoon
You know the feeling when the feeling's right
You know the bad feelings to
You're not sure how you're feeling tonight
Tonight's not through
Every night it comes and goes
It's not a steady thing
Day after day, no one ever knows
what tomorrow will bring

Will you feel like smiling?
Will you feel some pain?
Will you feel like hiding?
Will you dance in the rain?
If there's a feeling of feeling free
If it really exists
You need it to come over you
You need to feel some bliss
It always comes and goes
No one ever really truly knows
It's just the nature of things
No one knows what tomorrow will bring
