Crash

by Danny Washington

I expect and accept the misery of the papers
I'm a decent man for only moments of the day
Waiting frusrated for the sin to be disarmed
I never got my breath back
From living too much at night
My loved ones wither away, and I only dream of debts
Like a spitfire soars, the sin took her too
Should we burn you on a stake where you stand
I'll get a lucky break when I'm overweight and middle aged
Seducing me was a dangerous mistake
He is a projection, he can't put out flames
He's an unknowing pilot fiercely in love
Who will gather his senses in an overgrown unhappy home
Though he'll always be too frightened of life to live
