if loving someone means liking them < anyone else ever then

by Paul Marino

out of his hair
the only one he has eyes for
she exists in more than three dimensions
in cheap bright nylons
carpeted steps
severer falls
he'll paint a brighter bridge
after he burns them all
with that summer dress
(with remnants of bad skin)
the one she ordered on a half-whim
and charged to his diner's club card
he loses everyone who reads to him
