Turbo-Crastination by Sandy M. HumphreyIt happens every year
sitting, muddling it over
Estimating in my head
dreading the inevitable
Laptop mocking me
email beckoning
Waiting till April
marches in until I
Gather necessary paper
documents, receipts
My courage, my nerve
Valium for total owed
Fingers finally resting
on keys of keyboard
I remember last years
Tax password and listen
to a very quiet voice
Whisper "jsut begin..." 03/19/2013 Author's Note: Poetry prompt "Just Begin" L.L. Barkat Begin or end a poem with the phrase Just Begin......and it is true...I turbo-procrastinate every year and beginning is the hardest step.

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 01/05/14 at 10:41 PM I surely relate to this. However, I do have a CPA do mine since my math is nothing if it isn't bonkers! My oldest daughter did mine after my wife died until I owned other property out of state. |
