Fairytale Remembered

by Sandy M. Humphrey

When memories fade
as our hair turns silver
glowing like moonlight
I will lean my withered cheek
on your still beating heart
however irregular and listen

Re-spin with fragments our
Once upon a time
Re-imagine the rest
Dragons fought, battles won
Pince and Princess
King and Queen of nothing become

Remember
Please do not forget
My name

Author's Note: Word Candy Poetry Prompt: When you are old, re-spin me your beginnings. Part of my FB comments collection I have decided to post here. Love the creativity poetry prompts have given me as well as the insight a traumatic accicent my husband had last fall has left me with. More to come. SMH...I am back.
