A Goodbye Note Left On A Seat In an Interstellar Train Station

by Tom Goss

With a tremendous burst of speed
I race past the heliopause

On the warped wings of space-time
I hurtle towards the erupting volcano of possibility

With a scream of excitement I experience
The glacial swirl of mature galaxies
And the hazy circularity of newer conglomerations

I am a beam of light that has achieved consciousness
I am a universe that discovers itself

I am each delicately tuned physical law
I am both the curtain and the mountain hidden behind it

I am no longer at a precise coordinate
For I have been thrust into quantum indeterminacy
