Twelve years old and trying to define love

by David Maurice

To give her the love she needs
You must be willing to show you care
Sacrifices are in order, you have to give
Your time, your thoughts, lay yourself bare

But the rewards you reap will be more than you can imagine
Seeing her smile, her touch, her presence in your life
Will be so special, that you will feel you've gained
More than a love, but a shield from strife

Her shoulder will be there to help your journey
Throughout, you will discover that she is yours
That thought will become the main part of your existence
And you will want for nothing else, nothing more

Pretty deep thoughts for a twelve year old.
