Thoughts on Thoughts by Johanna MayMy thoughts travel far above its cage
of cranium and hair
it will not end where its medium subsists
on apple juice or papers and pens,
unlike the squirrels thoughts
that dead-ends on fallen fruits,
of lucky crumbs, nose twitching
for death who lives nearby.
That is why it only built
a fort of leaves, and that is all,
and that is all, it ever needs. 01/14/2013 Posted on 01/14/2013 Copyright © 2024 Johanna May
