I have found
in the many years
of the writing of poems
that those of mirth,
those of such merriment
seem to be enjoyed most.

So, as your host,
I will endeavor to try
(though I know not why)
to be at least a little funny,
without being so punny.

I also noticed
that those words that I write
that deal with deeper emotions,
like all of my angst, thanks,
tend to be reviewed harshly,
or not at all.

And yet, I endeavor to keep
throwing all of these words
up against the wall.
They are all fun to me,
perhaps I should try my hand
at writing a book,
oh, the novelty!
