are you tired?

by Charlie Morgan

you must be tired every morning, because
we dance the night away in our lone fantasy.

i walk you to your chair after every dance;
and wait for the band to start-up again.

my blood boiling with anticipation.

and you give me that "sure, why not?" look;
a brigade of flowers grow on your smile.

and i've got one more dime; another dance, left;
and you've got one more smile for me.

tomorrow is another time; i happily live for it.

beautiful.

and her heart sighs to contemplate
that a line such as,
"a brigade of flowers grow on your smile"
would grow a garden of smiles, fully blooming,
in a woman's soul. I adore it.
