I think I might have Inhaled you

by Lydian Beck

I tried to forget but you crawled inside my brain
Pulling at the strings
Driving me insane
Yet still I cling
Putting pen to paper
Every line is about you
Inhaling your words, your vapor
Settling on my bones like dew

We rarely forget someone we've felt somehow close to in one fashion or an other. I recall near strangers I knew only for a fleeting moment from 50 years ago. I think it depends upon the age when it takes place and the manner of the closeness.
